Severe thunderstorm update - Dec. 29

Dec. 29 at 5 a.m. 

GreyStone Power is responding to more than 6,000 outages as of 5 a.m. on Dec. 29. Severe thunderstorms have impacted members throughout our service area, primarily in Douglas and Fulton counties. There is a risk of tornadoes in our service area today, so please stay aware and remember that any downed power lines should be considered live and dangerous. Crews will be working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. Members may report outages through the GreyStone Power app, via text (text OUT to 81492 - message and data rates may apply), our website or by calling 1-866-GREYSTONE (473-9786).

 

UPDATE - Dec. 29 at 7 a.m.: 

As of 7 a.m., outages have been reduced to around 3,500, down from more than 6,000. Here are the latest outage numbers by county:

Carroll - 134

Cobb - 58

Douglas - 2,201

Fulton - 867

Paulding - 243

UPDATE - Dec. 29 at 9 a.m.: 

Crews continue making progress on power restoration this morning following severe thunderstorms that caused scattered outages throughout our service area for more than 6,000 members. As of 9 a.m., outages have dropped below 1,700, with about 900 members out in Douglas County. We will continue working to restore service to those impacted.

 

UPDATE - Dec. 29 at 11:30 a.m.: 

We now have fewer than 700 members out of power, down from more than 6,000 outages this morning. Some of these outages may be more time consuming than others depending on the environment and other factors.
