Severe thunderstorms hit GreyStone's service area

As severe thunderstorms moved through our service area on June 25, more than 21,000 members experienced power outages. This storm brought 60 mph wind gusts, which can cause trees and limbs outside of the right-of-way to hit lines. Crews are working to restore service as quickly and safely as possible.

Members who experience an outage can text OUT to 81492. For those members not enrolled in text alerts, send ENROLL to 81492 to sign up. Outages may also be reported through the GreyStone app, our website or by calling 1-866-GREYSTONE (866-473-9786).

Any dangling power line or lines on the ground can be deadly. All downed lines should be considered live. Call GreyStone’s office at 1-866-GREYSTONE (473-9786) to report a downed line, outage or any hazardous situation. GreyStone crews will be on the job 24 hours a day.

As of 9:30 p.m., around 17,000 members were out of power. Our contractors and crews from some of our sister EMCs were called to assist with power restoration due to the large scale of this power outage.

As of 10:30 p.m., outage numbers continued to drop, with more than 11,000 members restored and around 10,000 remaining without power.

As of 8:15 a.m. on Monday, June 26, outages had been reduced to around 500, and crews continued working.
