Linemen help install barn quilts

Have you ever driven by a barn that had a special painted quilt block? This is called a barn quilt, which is part of a trail. GreyStone linemen recently had the opportunity to participate in this phenomenon by hanging a barn quilt in Chattahoochee Hills.

It is a special movement with over 7,000 quilts on display, which started in 2001 by Donna Sue Groves, who simply wanted to honor her mother by placing a quilt on their barn. Electric co-ops across the country have helped with the installations, and there are now 43 quilt trails in the United States and three in Canada. Trails in the US can be found in states ranging from Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin to Alabama, Tennessee and Kentucky.
